Counselling is talking about and working through your problems or issues that are troubling you. Talking through these problems or issues with a professional counsellor can assist you to find clarity in making tough decisions in life.
Talking about what's on your mind, what prevents you from carrying out your normal daily living tasks and what keeps you awake at night can bring peace and a level of calmness to these difficult situations and times.
The idea of seeing a counsellor can be very daunting, especially if you haven't been before. Wondering if the counsellor will judge you or how they can possibly see things from your perspective. Counsellors are trained to see things from another person's perspective and to assist people to gain clarity for their road ahead, however long it be. Healing can be hard. It can be lonely and isolating, and even more so in rural areas.
Counselling doesn't need to be in a room with four walls. Counselling can be outside, it can be while taking a walk.
Still not sure if counselling is for you? Why not book in a free 15 minute phone consult to see if counselling is right for you.
Are you feeling as though life is just too hard sometimes?
Do you worry about lots of things and can't seem to overcome the worry?
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed or the effects of burnout?
Have you received a diagnosis of a mental health condition from your GP?
The list of questions can go on when it comes to mental health. There is help, talking to someone is a great first step.
Are you in unmanageable pain?
Is your pain consistent?
Are you struggling to carry out your normal daily tasks because of the pain you are in?
Do you struggle to understand your pain and how to explain it to loved ones?
Understanding pain could provide a little comfort and maybe even some future hope and reassurance.
Have you lost someone or something that meant a lot to you? As humans we can hold onto our grief for a lifetime.
We don't just grieve the passing of a person we are close to, often there are additional elements we never expected to feel a loss with, is this something you can relate too?
Sometimes we grieve something other than a person- moving, loss of income, a pet, a home. These impact everyone differently. Are you finding this type of loss difficult to process?
